Research shows that from June 2017 to February 2020, the UK smoking rate fell by an average annual rate of 5.2%, but from April 2020 to August 2022, the average annual decrease in the UK smoking rate slowed to 0.3%. In August 2022, the UK smoker rate was approximately 15%.
