U.S. government delays menthol cigarette ban

According to a recent report by NBC, the U.S. government has postponed the effective date of the menthol cigarette ban. The ban was originally scheduled to take effect at the end of this year, but it currently appears that it will not take effect until at least March next year.

Black Americans are disproportionately affected by the ban, as nearly 85% of black smokers use menthol cigarettes, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
