According to a report by the media dfnionline on January 25, after the renovation project of Kansai International Airport in Japan was completed, Philip Morris International (PMI) launched a new display area for its heated non-burning smoking device product - IQOS.
This latest IQOS display area designed by Philip Morris incorporates digital innovation technology to provide specially customized experiences for consumers with different needs. This includes allowing age-appropriate consumers to experience and touch various IQOS products in person; guiding trial areas to allow consumers to try IQOS and taste various Terea flavors, etc.
Among them, the specially designed "IQOS Community Area" provides passengers with a comfortable rest space, allowing them to communicate with other users of the appropriate age and share their experience of using IQOS. The product news area displays the latest IQOS products in an innovative visual display method to stimulate consumers' interactive experience. The IQOS interactive station uses RFID technology to allow consumers to see products with 3D visual effects, make comparisons, and get shopping help from store staff.
Edvinas Katilius, Vice President of Duty Free at Philip Morris, said: “We opened a new IQOS area at Kansai International Airport to reshape the IQOS brand image and redesign the in-store consumer experience. We provide enjoyable experiences for travel-appropriate consumers and look forward to welcoming all nicotine-appropriate users to experience the latest IQOS travel retail."
As of September 30, 2023, Philips Morris International's smoke-free products were sold in 82 markets around the world, of which smoke-free products accounted for approximately 36.2% of net revenue in the third quarter of 2023.
