Canada recently launched 14 new cigarette packaging warning graphics.
Health Canada requires cigarette manufacturers to use updated warning graphics on packaging, and retailers must ensure that cigarettes sold after April 30 have the new warning graphics. Canada took the lead in proposing to print warning graphics on cigarette packages in 2001 and continues to update the warning library. The goal is to reduce the smoking rate from about 10% to less than 5% by 2035.
