According to Charter97, Belarus will modify the tax exemption regulations for overseas land import goods starting from April 1, 2024. They plan to cut it down to 500 euros and 25kg.
From April, the tax-free limit for foreign parcels will also be adjusted.
The upper limit is now raised to 1,000 euros and 31 kilograms. That is, they intend to reduce the tax-free value limit by half.
The current duty-free restrictions on the import of goods from abroad via land borders were introduced at the level of the Eurasian Economic Union in April 2022 until October 1, and were subsequently extended three times, the last time until April 1, 2024 .
Previously, Belarus had a limit of 500 euros and 25 kilograms; they intend to introduce this cap from April 1, 2024.
If the limit is exceeded, a 30% customs duty is required, but not less than 4 euros per kilogram exceeded.
As for cigarettes, both now and in April, the limit is 200 cigarettes per adult, or 50 cigars (little cigars), or 250 grams of tobacco (or the total weight of these products does not exceed 250 grams). The alcohol limit is 3 liters per adult.
If traveling by air, the duty-free limit for imported goods from abroad is 10,000 euros and 50 kilograms.
